Mary E Logan-(1857-1925) was the #4 child & first of 6 siblings to be born in Olmsted County, MN. Mary Emma was a school teacher initially, and later the office manager for the Day Company in Minneapolis. Parents George (1815-1875) and Lois Logan (1819-1903) were Scots who migrated from Atkinson, Piscataquis, Maine about 1855 along with George's parents George Sr (1775-1990) and Catherine (1775-1867). They were farmers in the township of Quincy. Mary remained single.

Mary's brother Charles was a Methodist Pastor in Illinois; Horace was a dentist in Aurora IL; Willie, a school teacher; Alice Kate married the Oronoco (founding) Presbyterian Pastor, Thomas William Burnett (1840-1885) and following his death Alice served as a Presbyterian Missionary in Mt Pleasant Utah at Wasatch Academy, next with the Lakota Souix in South Dakota and then High School principal in Logan Utah. Lastly, Alice was a Girls Dormitory Supv at Alma College, Ionia Mich where her children Agnes & Thomas attended school.

Mary left her job at the Day Company to serve as caretaker for her dying mother. Following her mother's death in Minneapolis in 1903 & her sister Alice Logan-Burnett's death a few months later in 1904, Mary took on a 3rd career & served the Presbyterian Church as a Missionary in Santa Fe N Mex, Sitka Alaska & Reems Creek, NC. When she retired, she lived out her days in the home of her Niece, Agnes Burnett-Angell in Hastings Michigan.

Mary Emma Logan was my Great Aunt, the sister of my Great Grandmother Alice Logan-Burnett. I have the remaining cache of letters that Mary drafted & received along with original letters written by her father in Minnesota to her Mother in Maine before the family moved to Olmsted County.
