Jayne Sorenson Flint 1954 ~ 2011
Beloved wife and mother Jayne Flint, 57, passed away from a heart attack on November 16, 2011, at her home in Payson.
Mrs. Flint was born May 25, 1954, in Seattle, to Hosea Oliver and Lucille Sorenson.
On July 15, 1982, she married James Bradford Flint in the Salt Lake City Temple. During their almost 30 years of marriage, they lived in various places: Hollister, CA; Centerville, OH; Bayfield, CO from 2001 to 2009; and finally, Payson, UT.
Jayne was the proud mother of eight children, to whom she dedicated her life. She was a compassionate and caring mother and was awarded ‘Mother of the Year' while living in Ohio. Such an award cannot accurately describe the influence her love has had on her children and will continue to have on generations to come. Her greatest joy was her children. She lived to see them succeed and be happy.
She was a longtime volunteer for the Boy Scouts, having served as a den mother for many years. She also was an active lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She enjoyed hiking, walking, camping, gardening and visiting historical and cultural sites.
Mrs. Flint is survived by her husband, Jim Flint, of Payson; children Caleb Flint, Scott Flint, Kate Flint and Brigham Flint, all of Payson; Greg Flint of Santaquin, Utah, Heidi Flint of Atlanta, David Flint of St. George, Utah, and Steve Flint of Provo, Utah. Two sisters Susan Sorenson Tanner of Salt Lake City and MaryEllen Sorenson May; two grandchildren whom she adored.
A service will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 19, at 10am at the Payson South LDS Stake Center at 700 S 600 E.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, 1690 U.S. Highway 160B in Bayfield.
