Wiley Fletcher Moore

Wiley Fletcher Moore, 85, of Corsicana passed away in a local nursing home Saturday, September 27.


Funeral services were at 2 p.m. September 29 in Corley Funeral Chapel in Corsicana with Rev. Wesley Howard officiating. Burial was in the Frost Cemetery.


Mr. Moore was born March 28, 1895, in Sheridan, Arkansas. His parents and family, William Price and Lucy Ellen Moore, moved to Frost in 1901.

He lived in the Frost area until 1929, at which time he and his wife, Tessie Marine (Lewis) Moore moved to Corsicana where he lived until his death. Mrs. Moore died in 1968. [Dec 5, 1969]


He was a World War I veteran, serving in the Navy. He was a Methodist and a retired farmer.


Survivors include a brother, Irvin Moore and three sisters, Lena Sanders of Hillsboro, Gertie Adams of Norwalk, California, and Zella Shanks of Waco. Several nieces and nephews and a host of loved ones and friends also survive.


Pallbearers were his nephews.
