Fred Meckenstock, youngest son of Julius and Johanna Meckenstock was born July 6, 1894, and passed away May 31, 1943, at the age of 48 years, 10 months, and 24 days, in the Veterans hospital at Lincoln, Neb. He grew to manhood five miles north of Clyde and lived in this vicinity all his life. He was called to serve his country in World War I.

He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Hulda of Agenda, Minnie Hammar of Vancouver, Wash., and Emma Olson of Denver, Colo; one brother, Otto Meckenstock of Kirwin; two nephews, one niece, and one grand nephew besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Agenda Methodist church on Saturday, June 5, under the ministry of the Rev. W. R. Long. The American Legion also participated in the church service and at the cemetery. Interment was made in the Willoughby cemetery.
