My great-great grandfather was not your famous somebody but a man who, like hundreds of thousands like him, pioneered our country in the middle and late 1800s. He was associated with the early Latter Day Saint movement headed by Joseph Smith, Jr., though he left it shortly after Brigham Young took over after Smith's assassination in 1844 in Illinois. He married Sally Maria Cutler, daughter of (John) Alpheus and Lois Lathrop Cutler, and they raised a small army of children. Buckley and his family united with the Reorganization movement started by Smith's eldest son, Joseph III.
