Mrs. Mary C. Hardin, mother of J.T.W. Brown of Stamford, died at the Brown House on North Swenson avenue Monday, 1 November 1937.
Funeral was conducted by Rev. Dick O'Brien, pastor of the First Baptist church. The body was taken overland to DeLeon where a graveside servcie was held in the Bethel cemetery by Rev. Purdy.
Mrs. Hardin was born in Missouri and came to Texas with her husband, J.M. Brown. The family home was maintained in Erath county for many years. Mr. Brown died 23 years ago and in 1928 Mrs. Brown married W.R. Hardin of Clairet. He died in 1933. Mrs. Hardin lived with a daughter in Abilene for a time, coming here six months ago.
