Mr. Jorgensen, the son of August and Marie Christoffersen Peterson, was born July 5, 1896, in Omaha, Neb. He received his education in the rural and town school at Gillett Grove. Mr. Jorgensen moved to Iowa when his mother married Hans Jorgensen, who adopted him. Returning from World War I, he farmed near Gillett Grove.
He married Isabell Parsons Sept. 23, 1933, in Webb. He continued farming until his retirement in the early 1960's. They lived on the farm until 1975 when they moved to Webb where they lived for about three years. They moved to Jackson, Minn., in 1978. Mr. Jorgensen entered the Good Samaritan Home in December, 1982.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gillett Grove and attended the Methodist church in Jackson, Minn. He was a member of the American Legion Posts at Webb and Jackson. Mr. Joegensen was active on the Gillett Grove school board, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a railroad buff.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Frances (Mrs. Gordon) Ellefson of Jackson, Minn., and Lucile (Mrs. Donald) Sheets of Renton, Wash.; and four grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Minnie.
