JOHNNIE ALBERT BURNETT, 82, of Macclenny, died Tuesday in the Munroe Reginonal Hospital in Ocala, FL following an apparent heart attack. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County and son of the late John and Mittie Davis Burnett and father of the late John Allen Burnett.

He had owned and operated the Western Auto Associate store in Macclenny for 39 years, was a former teacher and principal in the Baker County school system and was a former Clerk of Court for Baker County. He was a Deacon with the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church, a charter member of the Macclenny Lions Club and a member of Dawkins Masonic Lodge of Macclenny.

Survivors are his wife, Roxie Prevatt Burnett of Macclenny; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Kathryn Louise Sands and Jim Sands, Jr. of Augusta, Ga; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Burnett of Jacksonville; brother, Virgil Burnett of Lake Wales, Fl; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-granchild.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Crawford, officiating.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with Brinkley-Guerry Funeral Home of Macclenny in charge. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers will be T.J. Raulerson, Joe Newman, Lawrence Barton, Ray Green, Billy Mikell and Ralph Sands. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Donnie Williams, Leonard Mikell, Jim Walters, Dr. Frank Kilgo and Fred Combs and male members, elders and deacons of Primitive Baptist Churches.
