Lillian Sammis Costa of Bloomingburg, N.Y.,
died April 18, 2003 at her youngest daughter's home in Phoenix, Ariz. She was 71.
The daughter of Raymond and Edna Sammis, she was born in Amityville on Sept. 8, 1931.
The family moved to Greenport when she was less than a year old, and she lived there until she was 23. She graduated from Greenport High School
in 1949 and SUNY/New Paltz in 1953.
She was previously married to the late Charles Peter Walsh.
"She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed," said a family tribute.
