Frank Cunningham Sevice Thursday, April 24, 1944
Frank Cunningham, Member of a pioneer Marysville family, died suddenly yesterday at the age of 62 years. He was born in Marysville and before his retirement was employed in the composing rooms of local newspapers. Recently he has operated a printing shop in Yuba City.
Surviving are his wife Mary Cunningham, and a son Robert Cunningham, of Yuba City, and a sister Lucy Conley of Petaluma. The son is employed in the Appeal-Democrat newspaper composing room. Two generations of the family have been connected at various times with the Appeal and its successor, the Appeal-Democrat. The late Ed Cunningham, an uncle was manager of the old Appeal.
The Cunningham family dates back to the early days of Marysville, settling here in 1848 when Marysville was the second largest and most important city in the state. One of the pioneer Cunningham was among Marysville's first bankers, a member of the firm Cunningham and Brumagim. A cousin Allan Cunningham is connected with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. from Ullrey Memorial Chapel. Cunningham was a member of Corinthian Lodge, No. 9, A. F. & A. M.
