"Mr. David Andrist died at the home of his son, Jacob Andrist, of Roscoe on Saturday, January 30, 1892. The funeral took place at the school-house at Roscoe on Tuesday last at 11:00 o'clock. A large concourse of people gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to the deceased. He was born in Canton Bern, Switzerland in 1806 and came to this country in 1854. Rev. Watson conducted the funeral services."

Son of David Andrist and Elizabeth Zeller Andrist of Boltigen, Bern, Switzerland. He married Anna Mattie (1809-1860) on November 12, 1829 in Switzerland.
He was the first Andrist family member of 4 brothers who immigrated to America, arriving in 1854 to Monroe, Wisconsin, then to Red Wing, Minnesota and settling on a farm in Pleasant Valley, Goodhue County, Minnesota. David Jr. is buried in the Andrist Cemtery in Roscoe Township, Goodhue Co., Minnesota

Their children were: Susanna (1830), David (1832), Johannes (John)(1833-1903), Anna (1834), Jacob (1836-1905), Elizabeth (1839)(died young), Samuel (1840-1929), Emanuel (1841-1923) and Elizabeth (Kienholtz)(1843-1911).
