Donald Dale McAllaster of Camptonville died at his home late evening on Sunday, April 12. After battling the effects of type II diabetes for several years, Don succumbed to apparent heart failure.

Don was born in San Francisco on Sept. 19, 1954. He was 54.

Don lived most of his life in Sierra and Yuba counties. After graduating from Downieville High School in 1972, Don moved to Camptonville where he lived on Moonshine Road. There he worked as a timber faller for 25 years.

Don had a great love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and boating.

Don is survived by his parents Dale and Carol McAllaster of Camptonville; his sisters Kathy Hanna of Rancho Cordova and Karen Burcell of Redding. Don also leaves behind two beautiful sons, Isaac McAllaster of Gardnerville, Nev., and Lucas McAllaster of Grass Valley.
