Born Nethel R. Proctor to William Breckenridge Proctor and Laura Belle Hawkins. She was the third child of 11 children. Mother went to work at E. I. DuPont and sent money home to help support her family. She met Ross Moore at Dupont and they married 20 May 1936 in Franklin, Kentucky. She raised two children and had one granddaughter that was the light of her life.

After daddy returned from World War II he returned to Dupont where he was told his health resulting from the war prevented him from doing the strenuous work there so they moved to his parent's farm in Petersburg, TN. After he died mother moved the family to Nashville. She raised her children and cared for her aging parents. After her mother died she went to work as a seamstress for Nashville Upholstering Company. Our grandfather continued to live with us for many more years until he moved in with another daughter, Julia Belle (Judy) Hardaway and her family, in Gallatin, Tennessee.

She met J. T. McFarlin and was to be married 1 Oct 1971.

She was a member of Wingate Church of Christ in Nashville. Services were Friday, September 10, 1971 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. conducted by Brother Maurice O'Neal. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Interment Mt. Olivet.
