Mrs. Barnes was born in Norfolk. She was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church. She was the widow of Benjamin C. Barnes.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane W. Ward, and a son, Samuel J. Williams, both of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mary E. Page of Chesapeake; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in South Norfolk Baptist Church by the Rev. Mac Brunson and the Rev. Frank Hughes. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. Friends may join the family from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel.
