H. Clark Armagost, 83, Cook, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in Hibbing. He was born Hershel Clark Armagost on October 18, 1928, the son of Wilbur and Izetta (Clark) Armagost at Lewistown, Montana.
He grew up in Cat Creek, Montana, a small oil field community. He graduated from Winnett High School, where he was active in sports, band, and school plays. He then went to Northwestern College and Bible School in Minneapolis. Clark worked in the oil fields in Cat Creek, Montana, then in Cody and Glenrock, Wyoming. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. In 1961 he got into the electrical trade and moved to Lander, Wyoming and was a member of the IBEW Local #322 in Casper. He also worked on the missiles in Grand Forks, ND in the mid 1960's.
Clark moved to Minnesota where he met his wife, Audrey Keister, and they married on July 19, 1974 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cook. They lived in Dickinson, North Dakota from 1981 to 1991, then moved to Cook, where he was a contract electrical inspector for the State of Minnesota, retiring in 2011. Clark was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a charter member of Cook Lions Club- where he served as president and secretary, a life member of Cook Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #1757- where he served at Past Commander, Adjutant and Chaplain, and a member of the Cook Timber Wolves Snowmobile Club. Clark enjoyed woodworking, making crafts, carving, golfing, traveling and square dancing. His greatest satisfaction was the time spent with his family. He always considered his step-children and their families, as his own.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Benjamin Armagost.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Audrey; 2 sons: Hershel (Chris) Armagost and Wilbur "Bill" Armagost; 1 daughter Sheree (Pat) Schweiger ; Audrey's children, Glen (Yoshie) Hill and Greg Hill and Glory (Rocky) King, Gennifer (Pat) Krank and Gay Schwindt; 1 brother Wilbur (Shirley) Armagost; 1 sister Frances (Jim) Black; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Burial will be in the Cook Community Cemetery.
