Robert Eugene Allen, 56, of Des Moines, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at his home.
A graveside service was held Friday, Nov. 19, at the Montpelier Cemetery, near Patterson. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Robert (Bobbie) was born March 1, 1954, the son of Robert and Barbara Jean (Phillips) Allen. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. During his working career, he was a butcher, welder and construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Opal and Gail Phillips and Earl and Esther Allen; and an infant son, Robert Joel.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Barbara Allen of Winterset; his sister Sandra Cornelison of Lorimor; a son, Joseph Allen of Indianola; a daughter, Megan Allen of Des Moines; four grandchildren; four nieces; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
