Donald "Pop" Ahlstrom, 64, died Jan. 1, 1995. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and was a retired truck driver for Chevrolet engineering division with 37 years service. He was also manager of the Colonial Inn Motel in Nags Head. He was a member of the Dare County American Legion Post #26; served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was the son of the late Carl and Alice Zeno Ahlstrom and the husband of Carol Williams Ahlstrom of Nags Head.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Cheryl A. Pulley of Nags Head and Donna A. Martin of Point Harbor; a son, David Ahlstrom of Detroit, MI; a brother, Clarence Ahlstrom of Detroit; four grandchildren: Justin Martin, Schuyler Martin, David Coty Ahlstrom and Cara Pulley.
Funeral services were Wednesday, January 4 at Twiford's Colony Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Warrenton officiating, entombment in the Roanoke Island Memorial Gardens. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo.
