William Henry, son of William Sr. and Harriett Sussex Pullen, was born in Akron township, Peoria county, December 13, 1878 and passed away in his home in Dunlap July 10 at the age of 76 years, six months and 27 days.
He was married December 16, 1900 to Lillie Turner of Dunlap. To this union 10 children were born: Clarence of Peoria, Hazel Stiegele of Dunlap, Wilbur of Princeville, Florence Arnold of Princeville, Lois Poplette of Peoria, Benton of Princeville, Grace Lemm of Peoria, Robert of Dunlap and Helen Trickle of Princeville, Bryon, twin of Benton, passed away at the age of 13 years in 1932.
Besides his wife and nine children, he leaves to mourn his loss 14 grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, John of Princeville, Charles of Dunlap, Florence Hough of Princeville, his twin sister, Nellie Streitmatter of Princeville, and a host of friends. His father, mother, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
He was a kind and loving husband and father, how much he will be missed from the family circle no one can tell. After a lingering illness of several months and severe suffering, endured most patiently, he entered into eternal rest.
He and his good wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1950 with a family gathering and open house when they received congratulations and best wishes from their many friends and relatives.
He served faithfully on the high school board of education for 21 years and also served as assessor for Radnor township.
He was a member of Sylvan Odd Fellow lodge of Dunlap fro many years. Besides holding the various offices he served as Noble Grand, the highest office of the lodge. He also was a member of the Past Grand Lodge of the district

Funeral services for Mr. Pullen were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Bouton Memorial Home with Rev. R. C. Mader of the Methodist church in charge. Interment was in Prospect cemetery.
Those bearing him to his last resting were Lawrence West, Howard Ivy, John Kuhn, Claire Bute, Clifford Lawrence and Arthur Heinz.
