Kitsy Ranee Griffith, 55, died on Sept. 3, 2013, in North Bend.
Services were held on Sept. 14, 2013, at Keizer Elks Lodge.
She was born on April 21, 1958, to Nancy Prosa and Frank Nichols.
She grew up in Aumsville and went to school there. She was active in choir and cheerleading.
After high school, she worked for the state of Oregon as a secretary, executive secretary and later an administrative assistant. She worked at the Board on Police Standards and Training, Department of Justice, Attorney General’s office, Department of Administrative Services and the Governor’s Office for the chief of staff.
She retired after 35 years of service with the state.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by sons Ethan and Darik Griffith, of Salem; father Frank (Cindy) Nichols, of Aumsville; mother Nancy (Curt) Prosa, of Lebanon; siblings Shereen (Steven) Lanzarotta, of Culver City, Calif., Monique (Dexter) Zoda, of Onalaska, Wash., and Kirk (Anna) Nichols, of Boulder, Colo.; grandmother Audrey Nichols; stepbrothers Tod (Liz) Prosa, of Corvallis, and Brad (Julie) Prosa, of Albany; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Donations in her name may be made to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.
Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
