|Birth: ||Nov. 18, 1795|
North Carolina, USA
Catharine and her husband William moved to KY after the birth of her son Kenneth in 1826 but William died within a short time of arriving there. She remained in KY for several years but moved her children (along with her son-in-law Thomas McCraw) to Fannin Co. TX by spring of 1846.
By 1860 she had moved to Wise County, by 1870 to Collin County and by 1880 to Terrell in Kaufman County.
The family story goes that Catharine died in 1881 of injuries from falling down a stairway while running to see a fire wagon. She never regained consciousness after the fall and died within a short time. She is buried beside her son, Kenneth Bain in the old Pioneer Cemetery, but no stone marks her grave.
In the 1880 census of Terrell, Catharine (Katharine Baine) is listed living with her grandchildren, who were the children of Kenneth & his wife Mary Ann Braley Bain.
