My Aunt Jewell was born in Tallahatchie County, MS. She was the sixth child of Susan Annie Harris and James Calvin Youngblood. They are buried in the Shuffordville Cemetery, Lyon, MS. Jewell is the sister of Virginia Blanche, Mary ALICE, JOHNNY William, CHARLOTTE Estelle, DORA Dean, James CLIFTON, EARNEST Lee, Mildred MADGE, BEULAH Mae and ROLAND Eugene.
Roxie Jewell Youngblood Gilliam Haynes died in The Chichasawba Hospital, Blythville, Mississippi County, Arkansas.

She married first JESSIE James "Jess" Gilliam. He was the son of William and Mary Gilliam. They had five children:
VIRGINIA Louise, DOROTHY Mae, William Calvin "Buddy", James HOWARD "Tar Babby" and Audry JOYCE.

The Mother of Jewell Youngblood, Susan Annie Harris Youngblood, died Dec 14, 1940 at West Helena, Philips County, AR. Susan Annie Harris was the daughter and seventh child of James W. Harris, 29th MS Inf, CSA, and VIRGINIA Rebecca Hanks. According to family history, he was captured during the War of Northern Aggression and sent to a POW camp in ILL. There he made caskets for the Union troops. The name and location of the POW camp is not yet known.

James W. Harris was born August 21, 1837 at Cascilla, Tallahatchie County, MS. Virginia Rebecca Hanks Harris was born in May, 1844 at Hardy Station, Tallahatchie County, MS. They were married May 07, 1861 in Yalobusha County, MS by Jessie Pipkin, JP. They are both buried in the Paul Cemetery at the Paul Baptist Church, Rosebloom Community, Cascilla, Tallahatchie County, MS.

Virgina Rebecca Hanks was the sixth child of nine children born to George Hanks, Sr. and Ann Selena Williams. George Hanks, Sr. b. 1813 SC, d. in Yalobusha County, MS; son of Thomas Hanks and Mahalia Petty.

Ann Selena Williams was b. 1815 AL d. in Yalobusha County, MS. She was the daughter of Moses Williams and Polly Carroll.

James W. Harris and Virginia Rebecca Hanks had nine children:
Molly, Nancy Ellen, Francis "Fannie" Caroline, Mary Annie Jane (m Jefferson Musselwhite), Virginia "Verdie", Harmon Spencer (m Annie Lee), Susan Annie, Robert Emmet( m Bertha McHann 1905, lived just south of Clarksdale, MS off Hwy 61) and Bette Elizabeth.
