Warren Victor "Vic" Conner of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, June 27, 1999, at his residence. Born on June 3, 1924, in Oolitic, IN, he was the son of Russell and Naomi (DeFord) Conner. He married Doris Craig in 1948, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons: Warren Philip Conner of Springville, IN, Terry Lee Conner of Mitchell, IN, and Gary Dee Conner of Bedford, IN; three brothers: Charles Conner of Montgomery, AL, John Conner of Paoli, IN, and Conrad Conner of Mitchell, IN; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara June Conner, and one brother, Robert Conner.
He retired in 1992 as a sawsmith for W. F. Meyers Company. A 1942 graduate of Oolitic High School, he was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a combat engineer building bridges over the Rhine and the Ruhr Rivers. He was a member of Hillcrest Christian Church and the Bedford Lodge No. 14, F&AM.
Services for Warren Conner will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 30th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary, with the Revs. Merla Craig and Gary Cornwell, Bros. Eddie Fitzgerald and Charlie Scott, and Pastor Rob Muncy officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
