Henry C. Diehl, aged 76, died Monday morning (March 11, 1918) at his home at Republic after a lingering illness. He is survived by his wife and one sister, Mary Swartzawelder, West Salisbury, and nine sons and daughters.
Surviving also are 50 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. The sons and daughters are William Diehl, Samuel Diehl, W. Salisbury; George Diehl, Republic; Mrs. Laura Hawkins, Donora; Mrs. Mary Johnson, Mill Run; Mrs. Ellen Newcomer, Mrs. Amanda Hampshire, Connellsville; Mrs. Edna Taylor, Thompson No. 1; Mrs. Emma Hennessey, Allison. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at the home. The funeral party will come to Uniontown on a special West Penn car, interment being made in Park Place cemetery.
