"Death Takes Rev. A. Ogden," (Lincoln) Lincoln Evening Journal, 16 Feb 1948, p. 4, col. 3.; Rev. Andrew L. Ogden, 83, died Monday morning. Born in Salem, Neb., he grew up at Elk Creek, Neb. He served as pastor in various Christian churches and later was an evangelist. He was the father of Ben E. Ogden, Lincoln, director of the state employment service. As a young man Rev. Mr. Ogden owned and published a weekly newspaper at Brock, Neb. Later he started preaching and held pastorates at Blue Hill, Chester and Burchard, Neb. He then moved his family to Bethany and became a state and district evangelist. Educating his sons in Cotner College, he was also active in religious training there. Later he moved to Table Rock, Neb., where he operated a harness and shoe shop. Rev. Mr. Ogden retired about ten years ago, moving back to Lincoln. Surviving are his wife, Bertha; three sons, Ben; Louis B., Des Moines; Verne A., Lincoln; daughter, Mrs. R. M. Oliver; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Andrew and Jennie married 30 June 1887 and were the parents of Louis Burdette Ogden 1888-1966, Benjamin Earl Ogden 1889-1975, Vern Andrew Ogden 1891-1954.
Andrew married Bertha Mae Crisler 20 December 1923 and had a daughter Norma Gene Ogden.
