Floyd was born August 5, 1893 in Eskridge, Kansas. We had his 100 birthday celebration just two months ago. He was the son of James and Sarah Carter. He has five brothers and sisters: Elizabeth, Walter, John, Cora, and Ancil. Floyd was raised in a dugout in Western Oklahoma where his family homesteaded. He first married Icel Maye Ferrell and had one daughter Lois. On January 16, 1921 he married Maybelle Egbert. Floyd was a hardworking farmer rancher for most of his life In 1953 he entered the construction business full-time for Mont Construction in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he worked until he retired in 1963. Floyd is survived by his daughter Lois Swanson of Ottumwa, Iowa and his son Charles Carter of Wichita. Floyd has four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
