BYRD, GOLDIE BELLE - Age 83, of Lake Columbia, passed away August 26, 2009 at Allegiance Health. Goldie was born on February 23, 1926 in Tennessee, the daughter of Kelley and Sadie Silcox. She married Clyde Willard Byrd and he preceded her in death. Goldie is survived by her children, Roger Dale (Connie) Byrd of Brooklyn, Arnold Lewis Byrd; daughter-in-law, Sharon Lynn Shopper of Alta, WY; siblings, Charles Warren Silcox of Howell, MI, J.T. Silcox of Westland, MI, Osa Jordan of West Union, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer Byrd of Greenwood, IN, Tiffany Jaworski of Lake City, MN, Janine Crawford of Brooklyn, MI, Derrick Roberts of Ypsilanti, MI, Adrianne Roberts of Belleville, MI, Ernie Levesque of Greenwood, IN; and nine great-grandchildren. In honor of Goldie, memorial donations may be given to Cascades Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel, Brooklyn, Michigan where a Healing Farewell Service will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. with visitation from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Family will also have a Celebration of Life at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church in Fairview, Tennessee on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 until the time of service.
