Mrs. V. E. (Roma) Crew, 68, 800 Mapleleaf Dr., Mt. Pleasant, died at 6:15 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, 1991 at Henry County Health Center.
She was born Oct. 7, 1922 in Rome to James A. and Minnie E. (Messer) White. On 24. 1940 she married Vandever E. Crew in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death.
She was a self-employed housekeeper in Henry County most of her life and cooked at the bowling alley, Kennedy's Nursing Home and in several restaurants in Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the Rome Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Michael, Springfield, Ore., Robbie, Irving, Texas and Gregg, Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Wuanita) Morelez, Cheyenne, Wyo. and Mrs. Klaus (Kimberly) Tolander, Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Gladys Sammons, Rome and Mrs. Donald (Betty) Grimm, Cheyenne, Wyo.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gayle; one brother, Keith; and two sisters, Gertrude Schmidt and Jean Woodside.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 11, at the Weir Funeral Home with the Rev. Carmen Lampe officiating. Interment will be in Grant Cemetery, west of Rome.
Visitation will begin at noon, Wednesday, July 10 at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A memorial has been established to the Henry County Cancer Fund.
