John Capozo was the son of Santina Clerico Peretti Capozo. He enlisted in the U.S. army April 13, 1944 at Fort Douglas, Utah. He was killed in Europe during WW II.

PRICE- Last rites were conducted here Friday and Saturday for Pfc. John Capozo Jr., former Carbon senior high school student who was killed in action in Germany during World War II.
Rosary was recited Friday at 8 p.m. in the Mitchell funeral home. Requiem mass was celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Notre Dame Catholic church.
Military honers were conducted by the Price post American Legion and Miners' post Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Pfc. Capozo was wounded Feb. 8, 1945, and after recovering from his wounds was returned to action and killed March 30, 1945, in Germany.

PRICE PRIVATE KILLED IN EUROPEAN BATTLE
Pfc. John Capozo, 19, son of Mrs. Santina Capozo, Price, was killed in Germany March 30.
He was wounded Feb. 8 and had returned to active duty March 10. A native of Price, he was born Jan. 24, 1926, and was attending Carbon high school when he entered the service in April, 1944.
Survivors include his mother, two sisters, Mrs. Perena Schiro and Mrs. Mary Gianini, Price, and a brother, Hiawatha.
