Eric Boyce, 46, of 1319 Lake Road, Hertford, NC went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Albemarle Hospital. Born in Elizabeth City, NC, he was the son of Ronald and Kay Winslow Boyce of Belvidere, NC and was the husband of Christine Pierce Boyce of the home. Mr. Boyce was an avid hunter and had been a member of the Chapanoke Hunting Club, the Four Mile Desert Hunting Club and the New Hope Hunting Club. He had been involved with the Inter-County Volunteer Fire Department since February of 1998 and had attained the rank of Captain. Mr. Boyce's life was centered on his love of his family, most especially his pride and joy, granddaughter "KK". Next to them, hunting and the fire department were his two greatest loves. Mr. Boyce was a graduate of Perquimans High School and worked as a sales representative for Parkway Ag.

In addition to his parents and his wife of twenty-six years, Mr. Boyce is survived by a son, Jonathan Eric Boyce and Tiffani Upton of Hertford, NC; a daughter, Dawn Boyce Stallings and Matt Craddock of Camden, NC and granddaughter, Cailyn Stallings; a sister, Michelle Boyce Pronto and husband Rick of Belvidere, NC; a grandmother, Edna Winslow of Belvidere, NC; eight nieces and nephews, Josh Lassiter and wife Gabby, John Russell Lassiter and wife Jenna, Brock Lamb and fiancé Holly, Cody Lamb and wife Lauren, Jenna Caldwell and husband Ryan, Taylor Pierce, Sydney Pierce and Belle Pierce; one great-niece, Riley Lamb; parents-in-law, Billy and Marlene Pierce of Hertford, NC; a sister-in-law, Brenda Lassiter and husband Russell of Belvidere, NC; and two brothers-in-law, Glenn Lamb and wife Connie and Wade Pierce and wife Wendy, all of Hertford, NC. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Denise Pierce Lamb; his grandfather, Alva Winslow; and his grandmother, Donnie Baines.

A funeral service will take place Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Evangelical Methodist Church with the Rev. David Bundy officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence. Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Boyce family.
