Enoch was the son of William Enoch & Amy Garvin (White) Buckingham. He was one of twelve children.

During the Civil War Enoch served in Co. C of the 77th Illinois Infantry as a musician.

On 5 Mar 1868 in Keokuk, IA he married Narcissa Haynard. The couple settled and stayed in Cazenovia twp, Woodford Co, IL. Enoch worked there as a farmer.

Enoch & Narcissa had 7 children:

2. Viola E. 1872 - 1942
3. Albert H. 1875 - 1934, marr. 3 times, Mary, Mabel & Florence, 2 known children
4. Anna, 1876 - 1936

7. Eda, 1888 died an infant

Obit from the Henry Republican 25 July 1907

Enoch Buckingham, a veteran of the 77th Illinois, was found dead in a field at his home near Washburn, July 18. The name of Mr Buckingham was well known to the whole fderal [sic] army, having been the tallest man in the ranks. Col. Lem Wiley went to the funeral Sunday and played taps at the grave of his old fellow trooper. Mr. Buckingham was one of the famous drummers in the western army.
