Koeltztown native dies at Rolla
Joseph J. Ackfeld, 79, a native of Koeltztown, died April 6 at Rolla hospital.
He was born May 28, 1908, to Ferdinand Ackfeld and the former Eliabeth Holterman. He was married to the former Julie Weinberg, who preceded him in death, and on March 15, 1974, married Edath Gilliam Brand, who survives. Mr. Ackfeld was a member of Holy Cross Church at Cuba and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4105 of Florrissant Valley.
He also is survived by three stepsons, James Everett and Richard Brand; a stepdaughter, Janice Wilhite; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One granddaughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services were conducted April 8 at Holy Cross by the Rev. Steve Faletti, Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery at Cuba.
Joseph married Edath Gilliam Brand on May 15, 1974. Edath was born on 5/16/1918 in Cuba, Crawford, Missouri.
