OBIT: WILLIAM DAVIS CRAFT-

William Davis Craft was born in Morgan County, Kentucky, June 30th, 1886, and departed this life at the Butler Memorial Hospital, in Butler, Jan. 28, 1958, at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 20 days.

He was united in marriage to Lillie Peyton, December 22, 1909, who was at his bedside when the end came. To this union were born four children: Archie Craft of Anchorage, Alaska; Harold Craft, LeRoy, Kansas; Opal Craft of Los Angeles, California; and Mrs. Lena Earls of the Home, formerly of Kansas City, Ml., who came to assist her mother in the care of her father.

Will Craft left his native state in 1911, thence to Illinois and then to Missouri, locating on a farm near Virgina. He had made farming his chief occupation. Three years ago his health failed, and he was compelled to give up his active work on the farm. However, he never complained and bore his affliction with Christian fortitude and love.

Will was a real neighbor, quiet and unassuming, always had a kind word for his friends and neighbors. In 1917 he made a profession of the Christian life, was baptized and united with the Christian Church at Virgina, where is membership remained. Besides his wife, and children, he leaves two brothers, George Craft of Virginia, Mo., Ed Craft of Kentucky; and one sister, Mrs, Rhoda Sexton of Ohio, besides other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were conducted at the Virginia Methodist Church Thursday afternoon in the presence of a large concourse of friends. Rev. Arthur S. Olsen, pastor of the Amsterdam Methodist Church, officiating. Mr. and Mrs. John Crawford sang two hymns "Precious Memories," and "Whispering Hope," with Mrs. Helen Hill at the piano. Interment was in the Virgina Cemetery where the remains were tenderly laid to rest.
