Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry Smith Brown and Mary Ellen [Case] Brown.

She married Jacob Wardell Browne, probably in late 1917 or early 1918. Jacob originally had a surname of "Brown" and added the 'e' at the end after marrying Elizabeth as a way to differentiate their last names. The couple did not have any children.

Elizabeth died while Jacob was overseas during World War I. One relative recalls that Elizabeth died of influenza.
