GOEURY, JOHN FRANKLIN *FRANK*--Frank Goeury, former Geneva resident, passed away at Omaha August 6, 1939. Death was caused by a brain tumor. He was taken to an Omaha hospital August,1, but treatment was unavailing.
John Franklin Goeury, son of R. E. and Maggie Goeury, was born July 15, 1890, at Bethesda, Page county, Iowa. He moved with his parents to Geneva, Fillmore county, Nebraska, in 1908. He departed this life August 6, 1939, at the age of 49 years, 21 days, at the University hospital in Omaha, Neb., where he had gone August 1, 1939, from his home in Sidney, Cheyenne county, Nebraska, which had been his residence since 1925.
He was united in marriage to Bertha May Hanekamp of Geneva December 6, 1911. To this union were born two children, a son, Cline Eugene, and a daughter, Frances Bernice.
The deceased is survived by his wife and daughter, Bernice; his mother, Mrs. Maggie Goeury; his sister, Mrs. Mae Hanlin, of Geneva; nieces and nephews and a host of friends who mourn his departure.
In 1914 he joined the Methodist church in Geneva, Neb., of which he was a member at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and his father R. E. Goeury.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. William Kilburn at the Methodist church in Geneva, Tuesday, August 8, 1939. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. (The Nebraska Signal 1939)
