Mae F. Hanlin Dies at Fairbury Last Rites Held
Mae F. Hanlin, daughter of R.E. and Margaret Goeury, was born April 7, 1893, at Bethesda, Page County, Ia., and passed away at the Jefferson County Memorial hospital in Fairbury, Neb., February 20, 1973, at teh age of 79 years, 10 months and 13 days.
She moved to Geneva, Neb., with her parents, in March, 1908, and graduated from the Geneva high school in May, 1913. She was united in marriage to William Wilbur Hanlin of Geneva January 16, 1918. They moved to Ashley, Mont., and resided at Ashley and Moore, Mont., until the fall of 1920, and then returned to the Geneva community where she resided until June, 1970, when she moved to the Heritage Home in Fairbury. To this union was born seven children.
She became a member of the Geneva United Methodist church in 1913.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and John Fahlberg of Geneva, Ruth and Arthur Roemmich of York; and three sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Catherine Hanlin of Denison, Ia., James and Pauline Hanlin of Fairbury and John and Carol Hanlin of Neligh; 14 grandchildren, two neices, two sisters-in-law and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, one brother, Frank Goeury, her husband, one infant son and one infant daughter and one grandson.
She took pride in her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by her loved ones.
Funeral services were held February 23, 1973, at 2 o'clock p.m. at the Farmer-Harris Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. John Stayton officiating.
Daniel Peterson sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden" accompanied by Mrs. Willard Foster.
Pallbearers were Howard W. Hamilton, Lewis Grote, Wilson Miller, Melvin Ralston, Vergil W. Reichert and George L. Schropfer. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
