Death of Miss Leona Goeury
"Leona Terozine Goeury was born in Cincinnati, O., January 1, 1815. She was the daughter of John and Margaret Goeury, who came to this country from France in 1845 and located in Brown county, Ohio. She moved westward with her parents, first to Warren county, Illinois, in 1854 and then to Cass county, Iowa, in 1871, at which place her mother died in 1880.
In 1889 she came with her father to Fillmore county, Nebraska. Here her father died in 1901. About this time she took into her home Ida Delmer (Dehner), then six years old and reared her as her own child and was all that a mother could be to her and when Ida was married to Frank Elznic in 1919 she made her home with them on the farm.
Miss Goeury has been a cripple for some years, which kept her closely at home, but patient in suffering, she was resigned to the Master's will when He called her to Himself Wednesday morning, May 20, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 20 days.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. A.E. Bashford at the home Friday afternoon. Interment was in the Exeter cemetery."
Ida Dehner Elznic's FindAGrave memorial is #91132895.
