(June 15, 1935 - February 2, 2011)

Dorothy M. (Hall) Bindel, 75, a resident of Parkville, MO passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at St. Luke's Northland Hospital. She was born June 15, 1935 in Atchison, KS to Emmett and Mary V. (Christian) Hall.

Dorothy graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1953. She moved to the Kansas City area in 1961 and married Herbert F. Bindel, on June 19, 1954 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Atchison. Mr. Bindel survives of the home in Parkville. In addition to Herbert, survivors include a brother, William (Bill) Hall of Atchison, KS; sisters, Evie Clark and husband, Rich of Smithville, MO, Ellie Norton and husband, Jim of Olathe, KS; numerous nieces and nephews.

She spent the majority of her working years in the office at the former Horton Garment Factory in Atchison. During her time in the Kansas City area, she worked in the fashion industry for Gay Gibson and Miss Coutoure. In her later years, she worked at the Parkville Art Gallery, as she had a zest for painting, especially watercolors. Dorothy was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Parkville. She was a long time member of the Daughters of Isabella, where she held many offices; including Regent of Kansas City, Regent of the State of Missouri and Vice-International Regent. Her passions in life were entertaining family and friends, traveling, fishing, boating and gardening. Dorothy was an avid sports fan and was a Chiefs season ticket holder for many years. She also enjoyed following the Kansas Jayhawks.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Therese Catholic Church, Kansas City, MO. Cremation followed with burial of the cremated remains at Terrace Park Cemetery. The family received friends at St. Therese, where the rosary was prayed.
