Brendan (Brent) H. Deane, 25, of Elkton, passed away Wednesday April 3, 2013.

He was born November 9, 1987 in Harrisonburg, VA. Surviving parents are his father, Donnie D. Deane of Shenandoah, his mother, Vicki R. Tolsma and husband, Robert of McGaheysville.

Brent graduated in 2006 from Spotswood High School. He enjoyed sports, fishing and hunting. His greatest love was music and loved playing his guitar. He was formerly employed a K.V.K in Shenandoah and Lowe's in Ruckersville. Brent was a member of Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Elkton.

Brent is survived by his sister, Erica Comer and husband, Brad and their children, Hailey and Aidan of Shenandoah; his step-brother, Dakota Tolsma of Elkton; paternal grandparents , Delmer "Diz" and Jackie Deane of Elkton; uncle, Scott Ruffner of Stanley; aunt, Dale Hensley of Charlottesville; and a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Philip E. and Fern Ruffner of Shenandoah and aunt, Terry Palmer of Shenandoah.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 Saturday afternoon, April 6, 2013 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton with the Rev. James B. Martin, Sr. officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday. Friends may also call at the home of his parents at anytime.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VA Wildlife Center, 1800 S. Delphine Avenue, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
