Douglas Gene Jarrett, son of Carl and Jane (Twitchel) Jarrett, was born August 26, 1955 in Beloit, Wisconsin. He departed this life Thursday, March 26, 2009 in his home in Akron, Ohio at the age of fifty-three years and seven months.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Christina Jarrett; maternal grandparents, Acle and Opal Twitchel and a nephew, Seth Carroll.
Survivors include his parents, Carl and Jane Jarrett of Lebanon, MO; two brothers, Keith Jarrett of California, MO and Michael Jarrett of Montreal, MO; a sister, Marilyn Persinger of Eldon, MO; a nephew, Nick Gaston of Lebanon, MO; a niece, Billie Jane "B.J." Looney of Camdenton, MO; one great-niece and three great-nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Doug was raised in the Kansas City area. The family moved to Camdenton in 1970 where he graduated from Camdenton High School in the class of 1973. After school he worked as a brick layer for many years in Illinois, Texas and Ohio.
He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the In His Name Faith Fellowship Church in Akron, Ohio.
Doug enjoyed writing poetry and had an interest in astronomy and enjoyed watching the stars. He was a loving son, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We are thankful for the many wonderful memories he created for his family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery, Montreal, Missouri. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
