Funeral services for Mrs Hattie Mae Jarrett, 75, who died in Granite City, Illinois, were held at the Fairview Christian Church, Saturday, January 21, at 2:00 pm by the Rev. Mark Sooter.
Interment was in the Jarrett Cemetery with funeral arrangements under the direction of Hedges Funeral Home of Iberia.
Mrs. Jarrett, the daughter George and Minnie Derixson, was born April 5, 1880. In 1896 she was married to Milton Casey. To this union two children were born, Bertha Ann and Laura Opal, both of whom died when young girls. Mr. Casey preceded Mrs. Jarrett in death.
On March 3, 1900, she was married to Fred Jarrett. To this union nine children were born, Rubin Nelson, Oney Franklin and Minnie Mae passed away in infancy, and another son Floy Samuel was killed at the age of 17 years.
She became a member of the Bryan Avenue Pentecostal Church of Granite City, Illinois in 1923.
She is survived by her husband, Fred, of Granite City, Illinois; three sons, Victor Jarrett, Eldon, Roy Jarrett, Granite City, Illinois, Earl Jarrett, Barnett; two daughters, Maude Jolly, Granite City, Illinois, and Edna Overholtz of Marine, Illinois; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
