Cletus Alt, age 86 of Plain, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare in Madison, WI. He was born on the Alt family farm in Plain to Leo and Tillie (Haas) Alt on March 19, 1927. He married Dorothy Meixelsperger on June 6, 1951. Together, on the Alt farm, they raised their 6 children. Cletus was proud of his family band, The Family Dutchmen, which included his wife and children. Cletus was secretary for the Catholic Knights for 12 years and delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years. Cletus loved to dance and play cards and had many friends. He enjoyed playing games with his grandchildren and was proud to teach them to play rummy.

Cletus is survived by his loving wife Dorothy of 62 years; children, Luanne (Rudy) Laubmeier, Dean Alt, Char (Dave) Brennan, Kevin (Connie) Alt, Vern (Bronwyn) Alt; a daughter-in-law, Eileen Alt, grandchildren, Greg, Amy, Melissa, Brandon, Marie, Melissa, Brian, Shannon, Connor, Jenna, Jacob, Kory, Kaylee; great-grandsons Quinn, Aiden, and another due in January. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Keith Alt, brothers Anthony and Edward, and a sister Lucy.

A Mass in memory of Cletus will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. Father Mike Resop and Father Raymond Dischler will concelebrate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's Catholic Church or Agrace HospiceCare in Madison. Cletus was a good man who put his faith and family first. He will be remembered for his quick wit and humor. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green is assisting the family with the arrangements.
