LEE YOUTH, 18, DIES IN ACCIDENT IN SO. VIET NAM
Seaman J.M. Termini Reported Killed as Weapon Discharges
Lee - Seaman James M. Termini, 18, of 15 Roberts St. was accidentally killed Friday in Da Nang, South Viet Nam. His mother, Mrs. Eileen Termini, was notified of the incident by the Defense Department Saturday.
The youth reportedly was killed when a weapon, in the hands of another seaman, accidentally discharged. He had been in Viet Nam only two weeks, having previously been stationed for more than a year at the Naval Base in San Diego.
Termini attended Lee High School and was employed at a service station there before entering the service February 5, 1965.
Besides his mother, he leaves three brothers, Joseph C. and Charles of Lee, and Samuel , serving in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Randolph; five sisters, Mrs. Donald O'Brien of Pittsfield, Mrs. Richard Decker of Lenox, Mrs. John Bartini of Lee, Mrs. Harold Dean of Becket and Mrs. Lee Brown of Freeport, New York, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mildred LeSage of Becket.
Funeral arrangements, under direction of Kelly Funeral Home in Lee, are incomplete.
