|Birth: ||Oct. 13, 1970|
Los Angeles County
|Death: ||Oct. 22, 2010|
Andy was one of four children born to Martha (Garcia) Martinez & Andres Martinez. He lived in the Los Angeles area until he was a teenager, at which point the family relocated to Solano County, California. Andy was brother to Olga (Martinez) Castillo, Anita Martinez, & Ishmael Martinez.
On February 19, 1999, Andy married Amanda Shaye (Archy) Martinez at Lake Tahoe. Together they had two children, Isaiah Timothy Martinez & Janis Eve Martinez, both born in Germany during Amanda's military service.
Andy loved his family, God, & life. He counted everyone as a friend. His calm & easygoing demeanor naturally attracted people to him. He lived his life to the fullest with the basic philosophy of "don't sweat the small stuff" and "Hakuna Matata" - no worries. There were no obstacles he didn't try to move past. Andy made things happen! He was everyone's event organizer, entertainment director, activities CEO & party planner extraordinaire! He would set-up, break-down, and do anything else that needed to be done - he did it all. Better known as "Handy Andy," you could always find him working on some project or another. Andy could best be described as a jack-of-all-trades & master of some. If there was a job to be done, Andy was ready to offer a helping hand and eager to use one of the tools in his extensive collection. If he didn't have the necessary tool for the job, then he was waiting to acquire it. The neighborhood kids loved Andy, probably because he was just a big kid himself. His home was a place for all to play & hang out. Whether it was a squirt-gun fight, rough-housing, bike riding, having a snack, giving advice, asking them to church, or just being their buddy. Andy enjoyed spending time with his family & friends doing any activity from backyard BBQ's, biking, camping, kayaking, hanging out at the beach, to church volunteering. Andy loved life & was taken far too soon. He left a young wife & two small children. As well as holes in the hearts of all that knew him. But most of all, Andy left a lot of memories to be enjoyed.
Just nine days after his 40th birthday, Andy left this life to be in the presence of Christ. His passing was the result of a heart attack, likely precipitated by his longstanding battle with diabetes.
