Sulphur -- Funeral services for Hines C. Akers, 83, will be at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 14, in Hixson Funeral Home.The Revs. Charles Soileau and Bob Rasmus will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas. Visitation is from 10 a.m. A rosary was said Thursday evening. Mr. Akers died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, in Vinton. A native of Ged and a longtime resident of Vinton, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus 6103 in Vinton. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viola Akers; and one sister, Mrs. Sylvia Landry of Bay City, Texas.
