Jack Allen, 88, Vienna, died May 11, 1999, at Maries Manor Health Care Center, Vienna.
He was born April 14, 1911, in Vichy, a son of Harvey and Hattie Feeler Allen. He was married Oct. 23, 1936, in Waynesville, to Eleanor Love, who survives at the home.
He was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church, Vienna; a charter member of Vienna Lions Club; and a member of Vienna Lodge No. 94 AF and AM. He began teaching in 1929 at Feeler School, Maries County, for four years and at Miller School, Phelps County, for one year before coming to Maries R-1 School System, Vienna, where he worked as teacher, coach, bus driver, principal and superintendent for 40 years, retiring in 1975.
Other survivors include: two sons, David Allen, Vichy, and Robert Allen, Rolla; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Vienna United Meth-odist Church, Vienna. The Rev. Karen Alden will officiate. Burial will be in Vienna Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Vienna United Methodist Church.
Memorials are suggested to Vienna Public Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or Vienna United Methodist Church.
