Nicholas William Andrews (1877-1947) was the son of Nicholas Andrews (1849-1881) and Jane Kein (1851-1909). Nicholas Sr. is believed to have arrived from Ireland in 1874 on the ship "Egypt". Young Nicholas was born in Washington County New York as were his three siblings, John, Anna and Mary. The 1880 Federal Census lists Nicholas Sr's occupation as blacksmith and living in Cambridge with his family. Young Nicholas apparently was a firefighter given the Hook & Ladder marker at his grave.
In the early 1900's Nicholas William Andrews married Bridget Luddy, also of Cambridge, NY and they had six children:
