Grace Burnett, 97, Lee's Summit, died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998 at Lee's Summit Hospital.
Ms. Burnett was born Oct. 15, 1901. She was the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Wortendyke) Burnett at Hamilton. She lived in Chicago, IL for several years, moving back to Hamilton in 1963. In 1992 she moved to John Knox Village in Lee's Summit.
Grace's first job was with the Hamilton Bank. After working at the bank, she moved to Washington, DC to work for the U.S. Treasury Department. After working for several years in Washington, DC, she transferred to Chicago, IL where she worked for the Treasury Department until retiring in 1963. She was an active member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, Chapter N of the PEO in Hamilton, Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include a nephew and wife, Ted and Marge Bosler of Kansas City, a niece, Grace E. Galpin of Independence, and a niece and her husband, Anna and Bob Bauer of Ohio.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 17, 1998 at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton at 2 p.m. Visitation will be on Dec. 17 from 1-2p.m. before the service. Interment at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Hamilton United Methodist Church in Hamilton.
