Dr. Bertha Booth was a most unusual woman for her times. She had a PhD from the University of Chicago and had done post graduate work at Cornell and Washington Universities in the 1920-30 time frame! An unbelievable accomplishment to be sure. She wrote the book, "A Short History of Caldwell County, Missouri" for the Hamilton School system which is located in Caldwell County, Missouri. Scholars have long used this resource because it is rich with information about the Far West period of LDS (Mormon) Church History.
Was a member of Major Molly Chapter, DAR, Hamilton, Missouri from October 1923 to June 1947; Regent 1932-1934.
