John Martin Carpenter, husband of Hannah Frances "Fannie" Reid, son of Samuel Davis & Eliza Shumate Carpenter of Garrard Co., KY. He was a Civil War vet. having served in the 7th KY Cav. Union. Moved from KY to IL to Butler Co., KS to Noble Co., OK. His family history goes back to MA, RI, NY, VA, KY, IL, KS, OK, and back to West Eldorado Cem. (Now Sunset Lawns Cem.) where his wife and four daughters were buried.
