Beardstown - Lorna "Allene" Becker, 86, of Beardstown died Monday, July 28, 2003, at her home.
She was born July 7, 1917, in Browning, the daughter of James Whitcomb and Vera Hollenback Reiley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton O. Becker in 1969 and a daughter, Holly Swanson.
Mrs. Becker graduated from Fairfax High School in Los Angeles in 1934 and earned a degree as a licensed vocational nurse in Los Altos, Calif. She was a charge nurse at a nursing home in California for 10 years. She later co-owned and operated Second Hand Rose in Beardstown.
Survivors: two daughters, Kathleen (husband, Allan) Allar of Beardstown and Barbara Kidder Fox of Rochester, Ind.; a son, Hayes B. Becker of Macomb; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Orrin Reiley of Buellton, Calif.; and two sisters, Metta (husband, Harold "Bud") Landes of Beardstown and Jeanette Haig of Magnolia.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Sager Funeral Home, Beardstown. Burial: Browning Cemetery.
